The fifteenth Express Entry draw of 2023 was held by IRCC and released the latest Express Entry draw results. A total of 4300 candidates are invited to this draw with at least a 486 CRS score.
Category-based selection now includes eligibility for 82 occupations
According to the IRCC, later this summer, lotteries will be held for Express Entry applicants who have a chance to qualify for six additional categories. Listed below are the categories:
Strong French-speaking abilities
- In healthcare
- Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) professions
- Agriculture and agri-food
- Trades, such as carpenters, plumbers, and contractors
- Transport
For these new draws, Express Entry candidates who meet the work and language experience requirements in specific occupations will receive Invitations to Apply (ITAs). The healthcare industry accounts for nearly half of all occupations eligible for category-based selection.
STEM fields, including science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, also make up a large proportion of jobs. An ITA requires immigration candidates to be eligible for Express Entry and have work experience in a listed occupation before they can apply.
It is still more likely that the highest scorers on the CRS will receive an ITA; therefore, a high score remains important.
Consultations with provinces, territories, and other interested parties led to the classifications, according to IRCC. As part of its yearly report to parliament, IRCC will include the results of the draws and their success. It is the agency’s policy to change categories every year.
About Express Entry
The Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Canadian Experience Class, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program are regulated by Express Entry, the application management system for Canada’s three most prominent economic immigration programs.
To take advantage of the Comprehensive Ranking System, those who meet the eligibility criteria must upload profiles to IRCC. A number of factors are considered by the CRS, such as work experience, linguistic abilities, education, occupation, age, and other factors related to human capital. A draw for ITAs is most likely to be conducted among those with the highest scores.
Moreover, the final application for permanent residency must be submitted within 60 days of receiving an ITA from IRCC. As well as after reviewing the application, an immigration officer will decide whether the candidate will be granted permanent residence.
