Are We Seeing A Shift Toward More CEC Draws?
IRCC holds the second CEC-focused Express Entry draw this week. This draw marks the first back-to-back week of CEC invitations on IRCC’s usual biweekly schedule since early February.
Between February and June, IRCC mostly paused CEC-specific draws and prioritized PNP and category-based selections. These earlier rounds typically had smaller draw sizes compared to this week’s larger CEC intake.
While it’s too soon to say if this is a lasting shift in draw strategy, this recent activity could signal renewed emphasis on Canadian Experience Class candidates—a trend worth watching for hopeful applicants.
