Last week, the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws results released from three Canadian provinces.
Most Canadian provinces and territories run their PNP draws. Those candidates who are interested are invited to apply for provincial nomination through these programs. Although it is not the same as a permanent residence, it can significantly increase your chances of getting permanent resident status in Canada. For example, PNP candidates who have a profile in Express Entry will be able to get 600 nomination points to their score.
It was launched in 1998, and only 400 migrants were welcomed by PNP, but because of the success of this draw now it welcomes more than 80,0000 migrants every year. The number of PNP enrollments is increasing because the government of federal and provincial consider that it is an effective tool to boost the economic development of the country.
Since September 2021, the PNP has focused on the Express entry draws. It is held every two weeks of the month. The last PNP was held on the 13th of April and the second was held on 27 April. It was announced by the IRCC on Friday that the express entry draws for FSWP, CEC, and FSTP will resume in July.
Last week, an invitation to immigration was issued by British Columbia, Manitoba, and PEI as a part of their PNP. Details of these new draws are given below.
British Columbia
The weekly round of invitations was held by BC PNP (British Columbia Provincial Nominees Program) on 19 April. 174 BC onwards immigration candidates received invitations to apply for provincial nominations.
Out of these, a total of 147 candidates were invited through a common draw. Candidates invited to this draw were from the Skilled Worker, International Graduate, Entry Level, and Semi-Skilled subcategories and were required to have a minimum provincial score between 77 and 125.
There are three separate draws held by the province for those candidates who are in targeted occupations. Twenty early childhood teachers who could qualify for the Skilled Worker and International Graduate sub-categories were invited.
Seven healthcare professionals are invited by BC who are eligible for the international graduate, skilled worker program, or entry-level and semi-skilled subcategories. For both of these draws, candidates were required to have a minimum provincial score of 70.
