The Canadian video game industry is known to be one of the largest in the world. Due to the COVID-19 lockdown, the video game production industry experienced a setback. However, now that these industries have reopened in Canada, they are flourishing again.
People who want to work in the Canadian video game industry do have several options to choose from. If you have got a full-time job offer from a Canadian employer, your employer will need to procure a positive Labor Market Impact Assessment. Through an LMIA, the employer will be able to prove that there is no availability of a Canadian to fulfill the desired job duties.
Further, if you have a job offer from an employer in Quebec, you would also have to obtain a CAQ (Certificat d’acceptation du Quebec). It is a mandatory immigration document in Quebec that allows a temporary worker to work in Quebec.
The employer will provide you a job offer letter and a copy of the LMIA letter. You would require both these letters to secure a work permit from IRCC.
The work permit will be issued to you when you enter Canada, that is, at the port of entry.
