Lately, the country has also opened perspectives to accept proof of citizenship online. Through these documents children who are born off Canadian parents but in a different nation will get the right to their citizenship in Canada.
Next year IRCC has plans to extend its online services to:

- Representatives who will declare residents who are living outside of Canada will be declared as crown servant or family members.
How to be eligible for a Canadian citizenship
Being a Canadian citizen, you will be allowed to hold a passport of Canada, get voting rights and run for electoral office. Many people consider it a proud moment for themselves.
All permanent residents can apply for Canadian citizenship if they are more than 18 years of age. After getting a PR status and staying in Canadian for 5 years you must surpass a total of 1,095 days of residence in Canada. Children below the age of 18 years can also get a citizenship status despite not meeting the residency criteria.
Applicants who fall inside the category of 18 to 54 years will also be required to prove their language skills ability, particularly in French and English. They must have a CLB (Canadian Level Benchmark) of 4 and more. For this, they will have to take a language test.
Additionally, the applicants are expected to not have a criminal record. If they do, their citizenship status will be hindered.
If fortunately, you meet all the eligibility as a candidate you will be approved as an applicant and you will have to take a test that will determine your citizenship status in Canada. You as an applicant will then have to attend a citizenship ceremony and the oath of citizenship. After this, you are legally a Citizen of Canada.
