A total of 1750 applications for permanent residents are released by Canada on 20 July. Express Entry is considered one of the major pathways through which Canada welcomes immigrants across the country. By utilizing Express Entry, Canada is on track to accept 55,900 immigrants in 2022, and by 2024, the goal will increase to 111,500.
Candidates were only permitted to apply if they scored at least 542 on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). As no specific program is mentioned, candidates may be invited to the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) or the Canadian Class of Experience (CEC).
In comparison to the previous all-program draw on 6 July, where the minimum cut-off score was 557, the current draw’s CRS requirement is 15 points lower. Additionally, compared to the 1,500 invitations provided in the prior draw, Canada issued around 250 additional invites this time.
Since December 2020 its Second Express Entry draw
After an 18- break, IRCC has conducted two draws for all Express Entry programs since 6 July in which only qualifying applicants received an invitation to apply through either PNP (Provincial Nominee Program) or CEC (Canadian Experience Class).
No matter for which program an applicant is qualified, IRCC takes into account their CRS when conducting an Express Entry draw for all programs. Prior to the pandemic, the majority of Express Entry drawings were non-program-specific, meaning that candidates who met the minimal CRS requirements could choose to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) if they were qualified for any Express Entry program.
The IRCC conducted PNP and CEC draws roughly every two weeks between January to September 2021. Because the anticipated application processing durations were predicted to exceed the six-month norm after September 21, 2021, IRCC stopped inviting CEC applicants.
The Express Entry system will undergo more changes even though the IRCC has resumed running all-program draws. Early 2023 is anticipated to see the implementation of the changes outlined in the recently enacted Bill C-19. When everything is in place, IRCC will be able to conduct targeted draws and ask Express Entry applicants to submit applications based on a financial objective. Candidates might be invited based on their profession, level of schooling, language proficiency, or any characteristic that matches the demands of the labor market.
Express Entry: What is it?
Express Entry is the immigration application management program for those professionals who are seeking to immigrate to Canada. This program is based on the points that are given based on the candidate’s qualification, Experience, language ability, etc.
There are mainly three programs that are managed through the Express Entry system those programs are: FSTP (Federal Skilled Trade Program), FSWP (Federal Skilled Workers Program), and CEC (Canadian Experience Class). Those applicants who want to migrate to Canada through PNP have to qualify for one of these programs and meet all requirements of the province.
The applicant’s application is examined by an IRCC representative before a decision is made. The officer will seek biometrics and might schedule a meeting or make more document requests.
