Canada has held an Express Entry Draw on 8th July for Canadian Experience Class candidates. IRCC has invited 4,500 candidates with a Comprehensive Ranking System score of 369 or higher.
This was one of the smallest CEC-specific draws since May. Canada was inviting over 5,000 candidates in each CEC-specific draw. The CRS score has also increased as compared to the previous draw. IRCC invited 6,000 candidates with a minimum score of 357 only in the preceding express entry draw.
Candidates who applied for permanent residency before June 10, 2021, at 22:46:37 were included in this draw. IRCC has implemented this tie-break date and time in the latest draw. The department has to release the date and time as per the tie-break rule, even if there is no actual tie.
IRCC doubled up the number of ITAs this year
Canada has issued 93,842 ITAs so far this year. The country has doubled up the number of invitations in 2021 as compared to the ITAs issued last year. IRCC has to meet a higher immigration target this year. Therefore, the government is issuing a great number of invitations in 2021.
Canada has a target of admitting 108,500 new permanent residents. And IRCC is taking steps to reduce the processing times for Canadian permanent residency applications. It intends to process these applications within six months. Currently, the processing times are higher because of the covid-19 related disruptions.
Received an ITA? What next?
IRCC invites immigration candidates for permanent residence regularly through the Express Entry and PNP draws.
After you receive an invitation from IRCC, you need to submit your complete application. The immigration officer will check all your documents and will validate your application accordingly. If your PR application is approved, you get a Confirmation of Permanent Residence card. After that, you only need to land in Canada and become a permanent resident officially.
However, receiving an ITA does not guarantee the status of a permanent resident. Some applications may be rejected. So, immigration applicants should fill their applications cautiously and submit all the required documents.
