Canada has released ITAs to its fifth all-program draw with a CRS cut-off score of 516. A total of 2750 applicants are invited to this draw which was conducted after a long pause due to the pandemic. Express Entry is considered the major pathway of immigration. As well as FSWP and CEC aspirants were qualified to get an invitation to this draw.
Beginning in December 2020, the IRCC suspended all Express Entry draws. The pause in the CEC draw was also in place in September, which affected only candidates eligible for permanent residence under the CEC (Canadian Experience Class) and PNP (Provincial Nominee Program).
The worldwide COVID-19 pandemic was in full effect when the draws were suspended due to the excessively high number of Canadian permanent proposals submitted. As a result of the Canadian border being closed during this time and travel policies regularly change. Since the return of all-program drawings on July 6, this draw has seen the fastest growth in ITAs, rising by 500. Up to today’s draw, every draw saw an increase in the number of applicants getting ITAs of precisely 250. Similarly, the minimum CRS score has decreased with each draw, losing between 8 and 9 points with each draw.
Explanation of Express Entry
The Canadian immigration authorities (IRCC) established Express Entry on January 1, 2015. It handles applications for skilled workers under the federal economic program. A number of Federal Skilled Worker Programs, Federal Skilled Trades Programs, Canada Experience Class programs, and some Provincial Nomination Programs are included in this group. As Canada moves closer to its goal of more than 400,000 new permanent residents in 2021. Stakeholders anticipate that large numbers of invitations will continue to be extended and that CRS scores will probably decline. As a result of the coronavirus pandemic that hit Canada in March 2020. Draws for the Canadian Experience Class and Provincial Nominee Program applicants are now conducted specifically for those programs.
Looking Forward
In order to strengthen Canada’s economy and labor force, IRCC plans to make significant changes to Express Entry in 2023. These changes would give the department the power to issue ITAs to those who fit into particular job experience, educational, or linguistic groupings. This implies that in some upcoming draws, the significance of CRS scores may decline. At a technology conference called Collision in June. Immigration Minister Sean Fraser gave a speech outlining the reasoning for this idea. We would be able to attract people who are capable of hitting the ground running and having a huge economic impac. If we can project the types of talents required over the next 20 to 30 years.”
