Canada’s three provinces British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba made public their PNP (Provincial Nominee Program) in the last week.
Apart from Quebec and Nunavut, each province and territory in Canada runs its own PNP. Individuals who want to move to Canada or want to obtain Canadian PR are eligible to apply for permanent residency. Provincial nomination can significantly increase a candidate’s prospects of attaining that status, even though it is not specifically referred to as permanent residency. Those PNP applicants who are nominated and have Express Entry profiles, for example, will see a 600-point increase in their CRS score. As well as they are eligible to get an invitation for a specific round of invitations that is only open to PNP members. Around 400 immigrants were admitted into the PNP after it launched in 1998; but, as a result of its accomplishment, nowadays it accommodates more than 80,000 immigrants annually. The number of PNP intakes has increased as a consequence of the PNP being seen as a beneficial tool by both the Canadian federal and provincial governments of Canada for improving the country’s economic and social growth.
Each and every two weeks, the IRCC performs the Express Entry draws. 1,500 Express Entry aspirants who met the required Comprehensive Assessment score requirement of 557 or higher received an ITAs in the first all-program draw held since 2020 on July 6. With 2,000 invitations distributed and a minimum CRS of 533, the most regular Express Entry draw took place on 3 August.

British Columbia
Upwards of 155 people were allowed to complete a provincial nomination in British Columbia (BC) in the draw that took place on August 10. Every week on Wednesdays, British Columbia has its provincial nomination draw.
In selected categories, such as IT vocations, the province invited the majority of applicants this week in provincial draws. In particular regions of the province in which there is a dearth of competent employees, this type of draw seeks to fill labor market shortfalls. Among entry-level and semi-skilled workers, the minimum Skills and Immigration Registration System (SIRS) score was 76; for candidates in the Skilled Worker category, it was 114.
Exclusively utilized for British Columbia’s PNP, SIRS functions similarly to Express Entry’s Comprehensive Ranking System.
In addition, the province sent invites to prospective workers in the following industries:
- Candidates with a minimum score of 60, childhood development educators, and helpers.
- Employees in the medical field who have at least a 60-point score.
- Beginner and intermediate-skilled employees: At a minimum score of 60, medical professionals.
- Overseas graduates with a minimum of 60 points for other selected professions who are skilled workers
Saskatchewan
The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program, which was launched on August 11, attracted a total of 745 applicants from the Express Entry and Occupations-In-Demand classifications (SINP). This keeps with Saskatchewan’s previous pattern of hosting PNP drawings almost every week. The province held four draws in July, inviting more than 200 applicants each time. Saskatchewan only had draws every two months up until July.
A total of 433 Express Entry applicants and 312 Occupations-In-Demand applicants were invited by the province. The lowest Expression of Interest score for both categories, like with the previous draw on July 27, was 68. The educational credentials of all invited candidates were evaluated.
