The latest round of Express Entry draw invitations was conducted by IRCC on 12 July. This draw is based on the French language category inviting 3,800 candidates with a minimum CRS score of 375.
An overview of the most recent Express Entry results is provided below:
Express Entry draw July 11
As part of the all-program draws held on July 11, IRCC invited 800 applicants. The minimum CRS score required for July 4 candidates was 511, which was less than the 511 required for selections from the previous week’s category-based calls.
July 4-7
Between July 4 and 7, the IRCC held four consecutive draws.
There was an unexpected all-program draw on July 4 in which 700 candidates needed a minimum CRS score of 511, the highest CRS requirement in 2023.
In the following days, applicants with work experience in select STEM professions were invited to participate in the highly anticipated inaugural round. In advance, IRCC notified 500 candidates with a CRS score of 486 that they would be invited.
The third drawing of that week was held on July 6, inviting 1,500 applicants in a category-based selection, particularly for healthcare professionals. For this draw, 463 was the CRS cut-off score.
On July 7, the fourth draw of the week was held. And 2,300 applicants who displayed strong French-speaking skills and obtained a minimum CRS score of 439 received ITAs.
June 27-28 Update
IRCC offered invites to 4,300 candidates who needed to achieve a minimum CRS score of 486 in an all-program draw held on June 27.
IRCC issued the first-ever ITAs based on category-based selection on June 28, marking a historic milestone. Also, a total of 500 applicants were asked to apply for permanent residency. As well as they had to have healthcare work experience and a minimum CRS score of 476.
Selection on category-based
The categories for IRCC’s category-based selection have been finalized, according to an announcement made by Canada’s Minister of Immigration, Sean Fraser, on May 31. Moreover, these categories were created after Bill C-19, which was passed into law in June and gave the immigration minister the power to invite individuals for economic immigration who will support the growth of the Canadian economy and the French language outside of Quebec.
Now, rather than merely depending on the CRS score. Entrants might be admitted based on other qualities like language ability or work experience.
In order to identify significant gaps in Canada’s labor force, the selection categories were developed through talks with stakeholders and the provincial and territory governments.
- Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) professions
- Healthcare
- Strong French-language proficiency
- Agriculture and agri-food
- Trades, such as carpenters, plumbers, and contractors
- Transport
Candidates chosen from among these groups must be eligible for an Express Entry program. High CRS scores are still helpful because candidates will still be compared to one another.
Furthermore, by the end of 2023, the IRCC intends to admit 82,880 new permanent residents through Express Entry in accordance with the Immigration Levels Plan 2023–2025. By 2024, this figure rises to 109,020, and by 2025, it reaches 114,000. In order to achieve these goals and strengthen Canada’s labor market, new Express Entry categories will be introduced.
