The recent set of regulations announce that travelers coming from abroad shall only be allowed in Canada if they are vaccinated fully starting from November 30th, 2021.
Canada has listed a number of COVID-19 vaccines that can be received by passengers. The names of some of the listed vaccines are COVAXIN, Pfizer, Astra Zeneca, Sinopharm, Moderna, Sinovac, and Johnson and Johnson.
In the following year in 2022, until January 15 only selected passengers shall be allowed in the Maple country unless they have been vaccinated against COVID-19 with both doses. The list includes:
- Foreign Graduates who are 18 and less
- Candidates who hold work permits and work in the agriculture and food processing sectors
- Blood relatives of any Canadian citizen, Canadian PR, and people recognized under the Indian Act.
- Trucker drivers and other essential service providers.
Once the new legislations are implemented, the unvaccinated and the partially vaccinated population shall be allowed to travel to Canada only if they belong to the above category. The newcomers, children under 18 years of age, essential workers, and people who come to Canada on compassionate grounds shall not be required to be fully vaccinated. However, upon arrival in Canada, they will be required to be COVID-19 tested, quarantined, and fulfill other entry procedures. All the rest who are not vaccinated completely and do not belong to the above-mentioned category shall not be allowed to enter to visit Canada.
Until November 30, 2021, Canadian citizens and Permanent residents who are vaccinated completely shall be able to go home without a COVID test if they have been traveling for less than 72 hours. Those who will travel outside Canada for three days or more shall have to bring a negative PCR report on arriving at their return.
More than a week ago, The Prime Minister of Canada had announced to the lawmakers of the U.S. that a three-phase approach has been planned for the travelers that do not require a negative PCR report to the border officials. The next phase will concern travelers from the U.S. Furthermore, the testing will be lifted off passengers who come from anywhere else in the world.
Restrictions were dragged again by the Unites States on the Canadians who were crossing the border for not important purposes. The travelers who had been fully vaccinated were not asked to present a negative test report while visiting the U.S, but shall be required while entering Canada.
For a long time, specialists have been approaching the Canadian government to consider eliminating the exorbitant COVID-19 PCR test prerequisite for completely inoculated explorers on short cross-line trips. These tests are costly, between $150 and $300, and can be strategically hard to perform if the length of stay is short. As indicated by many individuals, for example, the people who need to travel regularly for business, this makes it pricey to go between the two nations.
The Canadian Chamber of Commerce gave an assertion on November 17, approaching Canada to eliminate the pre-takeoff PCR test prerequisite for inoculated explorers.
Disposing of pointless and obsolete regulations of travel will contribute Canada’s organizations to work again, CEO of the Chamber of Commerce and the president Perrin Beatty, president, stated.
