Canada’s immigration minister Sean Fraser announced that Canada would introduce a new refugee immigration pathway under EMPP. The aim of this pathway is to facilitate the connection between Canadian employers and skilled refugees and displaced people.
A new route will be opened under the federal EMPP. This statement was made by Fraser in Toronto earlier today. According to the website of the IRCC, a new route is scheduled to begin this summer under the EMPP – (Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot).
Employers can find qualified refugees and other displaced individuals through the EMPP, which was created to assist them. Employers can match these workers with critical occupations whose labor shortages need to be filled by the program.
Canada’s aim to address the labor shortage
Using the new pathway introduced this summer, employers will have a great opportunity to fill in-demand positions like personal support assistants, teachers, mechanical and electrical engineers, nurse assistance, web designers, truck drivers, long-term care assistants, software engineers, and delivery service technicians.
In order to address labor shortages, Canada plans to expand the EMPP by welcoming 2,000 trained migrants. As well as displaced persons over the next few years.
A total of 465,000 permanent residents are expected to be accepted by the IRCC this year.
As a result of the Immigration Levels Strategy 2023-2025, 485,000 immigrants are expected to arrive in 2024 and 500,000 immigrants in 2025. During the previous year, Canada received just under 437,000 immigrants.
A record level of immigration and record admissions of international students. And workers helped boost Canada’s population by more than one million people last year.
As a result of severe labor shortages, Canada’s immigration goals aim primarily to meet its immigration needs. Canada has more than a hundred different immigration options for different economic classes. PNP – (Provincial Nominee Programs) are popular economic class pathways. Because they allow provinces and territories to select candidates who fulfill their local financial needs. Among the federal pathways, Express Entry is the most popular.
