Since the outbreak of coronavirus, Canada has been taking measures to ease immigration operations.
The IRCC (Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada) has decided to resume the visitor visa and eTA processing services. The online applications for electronic travel authorizations and visitor visas will be effective from July 1, 2020.
However, Canada has not lifted the travel ban yet. In fact, travel restrictions will be in place until July 31. Due to these restrictions, several people are not able to enter Canada.
Nevertheless, immediate family members of Canadian citizens or permanent residents, skilled workers, and individuals related to essential services are exempt from this travel ban.
Skilled workers, visitors, students, and other immigration candidates who qualify for a travel restriction exemption can enter the country provided they follow the quarantine period of 14 days.
Travelers to Canada must be able to prove to the Canadian Border Services Agency that they are coming to Canada for an essential reason.
Canada is now resuming the visitor visa application which is also known as a temporary resident visa. Also, IRCC has already started processing online applications for work permits, study permits, and permanent residence. IRCC has mentioned that it will accept online documents only for these visa applications.
Canada has been flexible regarding immigration applications even during the pandemic and it is providing enough time to immigration candidates to submit their visa applications.
