British Columbia has issued tech invitations to 95 candidates

In the latest Tech Draw held on March 23, British Columbia has invited 95 tech workers to apply for a BC provincial nomination. B.C. has invited candidates who have a job offer in occupations related to the tech sector. And it issued tech invitations through the Skills Immigration and Express Entry British Columbia categories of the BC PNP. The minimum provincial score required in each subcategory – Skilled Worker and International Graduate was 80.

British Columbia PNP Tech Pilot

The province of British Columbia introduced the Tech Pilot to ensure that the growth of the technology sector is not hindered. The Tech Pilot helps employers to hire talented foreign workers and international students who can address the tech market needs. Candidates who apply through the immigration streams of the BC PNP and who have a job offer from a list of 29 qualified occupations are eligible to secure an ITA under the Tech Pilot.

How to apply?

Applicants have to register themselves under the Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) of the British Columbia PNP. Then, they have to create a profile through the online portal in either of the categories – Skills Immigration or Express Entry BC. After completing these steps, they are eligible to apply for the Tech Pilot. Candidates who apply through the Skills Immigration and Express Entry categories of BC are given points based on human capital as well as economic factors. Further, candidates who apply through the Express Entry BC stream must be eligible for one of three express entry economy class programs: Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Worker, or Federal Skilled Trades.
