Canada’s most acute labor market gap is in the trade industry. Here are Alberta’s trade profession incentives for skilled immigrants.
Well, according to a study released this month by Statistics Canada, the national labor market is facing ‘downward pressure’ resulting from a wave of recent retirements among baby boomers.
This has led to Canada’s labor force participation rate being at its lowest in 20 years (65% in 2021, 2022, and 2023).
Accordingly, Canada is always seeking to attract skilled workers who can help bolster the workforce in the trade sector on both the federal and provincial levels.
Although IRCC is taking its own steps to fill these acute shortages, Alberta has introduced some financial incentives to bring them to the province.
