Alberta invites foreign workers in the latest immigration draws, i.e., the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) has once again invited hundreds of foreign workers across different sectors to apply for provincial nomination, strengthening Alberta’s workforce and filling critical labour shortages.
Workers were chosen based on their professional background and how well they can meet the province’s current labour market needs.
Summary Of The Express Entry Draws Held From 3 To 16 July
Between 3 and 16 July 2025, the AAIP conducted six draws, with various draw sizes and minimum scores required for an invitation.
Four of these six draws were under the Alberta Express Entry stream—an enhanced stream aligned with the federal Express Entry system.
| Draw Date | Stream | Minimum Score Of Invited Candidates | Number Of Invitations |
| July 16, 2025 | Alberta Express Entry Stream – Law Enforcement Pathway | 49 | <10 |
| July 11, 2025 | Alberta Opportunity Stream | 72 | 269 |
| July 9, 2025 | Dedicated Health Care Pathway – non-Express Entry | 53 | 32 |
| July 8, 2025 | Alberta Express Entry Stream – Priority Sectors (Aviation) | 53 | 20 |
| July 4, 2025 | Alberta Express Entry Stream – Priority Sectors (Agriculture) | 64 | 15 |
| July 3, 2025 | Dedicated Health Care Pathway – Express Entry | 62 | 36 |
Most of these invitations went through the Alberta Opportunity Stream, which supports temporary foreign workers already working full-time in Alberta and who have a valid, full-time job offer in an eligible occupation from an Alberta employer.
Earlier this year, the AAIP confirmed that throughout 2025, its Alberta Express Entry stream would target priority sectors through specialized pathways:
- Dedicated Health Care Pathway
- Accelerated Tech Pathway
- Law Enforcement Pathway
The Express Entry stream currently gives priority to key sectors such as:
- Construction
- Agriculture
- Aviation
- Healthcare

| Stream | 2025 Nomination Allocation | Nominations Issued So Far | Nominations Still To Be Issued This Year | EOIs In The Candidate Pool |
| Alberta Express Entry Stream – Law Enforcement Pathway | 20 | <10 | N/A | 116 |
| Alberta Opportunity Stream | 2,592 | 1,608 | 984 | 40,623 |

The AAIP also confirmed that it currently has 2,311 applications in its inventory, which are still waiting to be processed.
Altogether, Alberta has issued 2,895 nominations out of its total 4,875 allocation for 2025. This means 1,980 nominations are still available for the rest of the year, providing many more foreign workers with an opportunity to settle in Alberta and contribute to its economy.
