Biggest Express Entry Draw held with Lowest CRS score ever!

It is one of the exceptional occurrences that is witnessed in the history of the Canadian Immigration System. The IRCC has held the largest Express Entry Draw ever.  On Saturday, 13th February, Canada conducted the invitation round and issued as many as 27,332 invitations to express entry candidates. Now, all of these candidates have an opportunity to obtain a Permanent Residence. Canada launched the Express Entry Immigration System in 2015, and since then, the highest number of invitations issued through this immigration system is 5000 last year. It is for the first time that Canada has invited more than 25,000 candidates in a single express entry draw.

Lowest CRS Score Requirement

Also, the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score required was only 75. Yes, what you read is absolutely true. This is the lowest CRS score ever set by IRCC in an Express Entry Draw.  Further, in this draw, the IRCC issued invitations to Canadian Experience Class candidates only. So, candidates who meet the eligibility requirements for the CEC are invited to apply for Canada PR. 

Tie-break date & time

Canada applies the tie-break rule in all express entry draws as there are many candidates with the same CRS scores. So, candidates with similar CRS scores are ranked as per the tie-break date and time. In this CEC-specific draw, the tie-break date and time were September 12, 2020, at 15:31 UTC.

How to apply for the Express Entry-CEC?

The applications for the Canadian Experience Class are processed under the Express Entry system. First, candidates have to check their eligibility for the CEC and if they fulfill requirements, they can submit their profiles in the Express Entry pool. Once a profile is submitted, the candidate is awarded a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score based on human capital factors. This score is the determining factor for securing an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence.
