Express Entry Draw invites 3,300 Canadian Experience Class candidates

Canada is following the approach of conducting the Provincial Nominee Program and Canadian Experience Class-specific Express Entry draws alternatively since the Mid-March. The IRCC (Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada) has held a PNP-specific express entry draw on August 19 inviting 600 candidates. And as anticipated, the immigration ministry held another express entry draw within a day. It invited 3,300 candidates through the Canadian Experience Class immigration program. The Comprehensive Ranking System score required to get an Invitation to Apply was 454. This cut-off score was higher than the score of the previous CEC-specific express entry draw. The score increased by 9 points in this draw as more candidates were able to enter the express entry pool this time. Tie-break date and time: Candidates who have submitted their profiles in the express entry pool before July 27, 2020, at 11:10:05 UTC received an ITA in this CEC-specific draw. This was the 28th Express Entry Draw of 2020 and 161st overall. So far this year, the Express Entry System has successfully invited a total of 65,750 candidates to apply for Canadian Permanent Residence including the latest draw invitations.

Canadian Experience Class

CEC is an immigration program listed in the federal express entry system. Canada recognizes the efforts of talented foreign workers who contribute to the economic development. Therefore, the government has a separate immigration program for people who are already working in Canada to let them become Canadian permanent residents. Foreign skilled workers with at least one year of Canadian work experience can apply for a permanent resident status through the CEC immigration program. To apply under the Canadian Experience Class, candidates need to have a work permit and must have completed one full year of working in Canada. One of the advantages for CEC candidates is that the immigration applications are processed at a faster rate, approximately three to four months. It is incredible that despite the coronavirus chaos, Canada has been able to welcome such a large number of immigrants. These numbers exceed the number of ITAs issued through express entry at the same time in 2019.
