IRCC has issued 512 Invitations to Apply for Permanent Residence to Express Entry candidates in the latest draw held on August 4.
Canada invited Provincial Nominee Program candidates in this Express Entry Draw. Candidates who had provincial nominations from any Canadian province were eligible to receive invitations in this draw.
CRS score requirement: 760 points
Invitees required a Comprehensive Ranking System score of a minimum of 760 points. The score is high as per the standard of Express Entry Draw. However, since the PNP candidates already had 600 additional points, they required a CRS score of 160 points only. In the previous PNP-specific draw, 462 candidates required a score of 734 points or higher.
Tie-break date and time: March 5, 2021, at 22:38:31 UTC
As a part of an administrative requirement, IRCC publishes a tie-break date and time in each Express Entry Draw. Candidates who met the CRS score requirement got invited by IRCC only if their profiles were in the express entry pool before March 5, at 22:38:31 UTC.
Express Entry Invitations 2021
The number of ITAs issued through the Express Entry this year has almost doubled as compared to the figures in 2020. This indicates that IRCC is making all attempts to welcome at least 108,500 newcomers this year mainly under the Express Entry Immigration System.
Already Canada has invited 99,316 Provincial Nominee Program and Canadian Experience Class candidates through the regularly held Express Entry Draws.
Canadian Express Entry System
The Express Entry allows new immigrants to apply for Canadian permanent residence through the following three economy class programs:
- Federal Skilled Trades
- Federal Skilled Worker
- Canadian Experience Class
Before creating their profiles in the express entry pool, candidates must check their eligibility for one of the three immigration pathways. If they meet eligibility requirements, they can submit their profiles. Based on their express entry profiles, candidates get a Comprehensive Ranking System score.
The CRS score is the deciding factor for securing an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Permanent Residence. This score depends on human capital factors such as age, education qualification, language skills, and work experience.
