On 25 May a new round of invitations of PNP was held by Canada in which 589 Express Entry candidates are invited to apply for the PR visa of Canada.
To be eligible for the invitation candidates scored at least 741 in this draw. IRCC invites only those candidates are invited who received a provincial nomination previously, this is the reason for the high cutoff scores. PNP-nominated Express Entry candidates will get 600 CRS points automatically, which are added to their score.
This draw was a bit bigger than the last one and had a lower cutoff than the previous cutoff. In the previous Express Entry draw, 545 PNP candidates were invited by IRCC with a 753 CRS score.
FSWP & CEC Express Entry will start again
According to the immigration minister of Canada Express Entry invitations for CEC & FSWP will start again in early July. Sean Fraser also announced that the admission application for the new express entry will be processed within the service standard of six months.
Since December 2020, the Express Entry invitation for FSWP has been stopped, and invitations for CEC candidates have been stopped from September 2021. Currently, the processing time of these programs is above the target of IRCC. Temporarily IRCC has put on hold these candidates to issue resources to reduce the backlogs of Express Entry, which was aggravated by the pandemic.
As per the data of IRCC, the IRCC took 156,000 permanent residency decisions between 1 January and 31 March 2022, which is twice as many as the same period in 2021.
Even though, the number of new migrants willing to become migrants through the system of Express Entry has decreased in 2022 and 2023. The goal of IRCC is to welcome more than 110,000 migrants through express entry by 2024.
Express Entry
Express Entry is an immigration management system that is used by IRCC to manage the three most popular immigration programs online which are FSWP (Federal Skilled Worker Programs), CEC (Canadian Experience Program), and the FSTP (Federal Skilled Trade Program). Those candidates who want to immigrate through Express Entry have to qualify for one of these programs.
To rank, the profile of Candidates Express Entry uses the point-based system which is CSR (Comprehensive Ranking System). To obtain an ITA through IRCC candidates have to score top then they are eligible to apply for permanent residence in Canada.
Once the candidate applies for permanent residence, the application the candidate is reviewed by the IRCC, and then the final decision will be made.
If the application is approved, a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) is allocated through the IRCC. After receiving the COPR candidates will be able to complete the landing process. If the candidates are outside of Canada, then they can take the help of pre-arrival services to complete the first step to settling in Canada.
