Only PNP draws since September
During the coronavirus pandemic, Express Entry draws were held by Canada to specifically target Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates. IRCC for some reason, has not held a single draw concerning the CEC candidates since 14th September. This may be an added factor that last month, the number of Express Entry candidates invited was comparatively less. The CEC draws held tend to be of a larger scale as compared to the PNP draws since it has more applicants. Indeed, even with the decreased number of invitations this month, Canada has still welcomed number of Express Entry applicants this year. 111,265 candidates have been invited so far by Canada through the Express Entry System. Previous year, 107,350 newcomers were welcomed which was a record smashing number then. Additionally, because of the PNP draws, the normal score shorts have remained somewhat high. This is altogether because of the automatic 600-point grant that comes with the provincial nomination selection.Canada’s new immigration minister

Sean Fraser has been deputed of the responsibility to oversee the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, the Canadian immigration policies and laws, announcements, and schemes that revolve around immigration Canada. A meeting was scheduled on October 21st between the IRCC and immigration lawyers where it was questioned whether Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) would continue. Before the pandemic, these were the main source of candidates who received the Express Entry invitations. According to sources, The IRCC representatives had been for the cabinet to be reshuffled.
