The Canadian province of Manitoba held another draw on the 16th of December, 2021.
According to the MPNP (Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program), the number of candidates who were invited for the purpose of immigration was 349. These immigration candidates were called across the three immigration programs specific to the provinces or the PNPs.
- Manitoba Skilled Worker- The minimum EOI that was required was 447 and a total of 296 invitations had been sent.
- International System of Education- The number of invitations sent was 40 with no minimum score requirement.
- Skilled Workers Overseas- The minimum EOI score was considerably high at 712, invitations sent were 13.
Out of all of these, there were 64 invitations that were sent to candidates in the Express Entry System.
About Express Entry
There are three highly-skilled programs by the center that are managed by the Express Entry System. They are the Federal skilled trades program, Federal Skilled worker program, and Canadian Experience Class.
The profiles of the Express Entry of the immigrants are submitted and in response, a CRS system of the score is granted to the candidates. The CRS system is known as the Comprehensive Ranking System. The CRS score is calculated keeping the various factors in mind, such as the age factor, experience of professional work, language ability, and many other reasons. The candidate who then scores the highest is granted an invitation to apply for a Canadian PR through the Express Entry draws.
In the meantime, a candidate will also be eligible to skip the process of PNP and directly apply for an Express Entry System to get a permanent residency in Canada. If a candidate is qualified for a provincial nomination, he or she will get an automatic CRS score of 600 points added to their profile, which will enable the candidate to get an ITA (Invitation to Apply) in the draw that will come up next.
Immigration programs of Manitoba
The immigration pathways and programs of Manitoba are managed by the MPNP. Through the MPNP the immigration programs are sent to the federal government responsible for immigration. The provinces of Canada do not have the power to distribute or PR status but they can contribute to an application by providing provincial nominations.
To be able to make the most out of the Manitoban nomination, the candidate should first register an EOI with the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program. The candidate shall only then be able to get an LAA via the two streams that are Skilled Workers overseas stream and Skilled workers in Manitoba stream
1,000 points are the maximum score out of which the candidates are ranked and scored concerning their human capital factors and their sources and connections with the province.
It is important for the province to choose candidates who fit their economic and labor market needs through the Skilled Workers overseas category and Skilled worker in Manitoba categories.
The candidate will also be required to exhibit their connections to the province of Manitoba like having blood relatives residing in the province or even having a previous experience of Canadian stay. It is not necessary to be residing in the province of Manitoba while applying for a PR. Although, an invitation by one of the Strategic Recruitment Initiatives of Manitoba can help immensely.
Having full-time employment from an employer in the province is necessary to be able to get invited by the Skilled Workers in the Manitoba category.
Graduates from overseas who have finished their education in the province of Manitoba shall be eligible to receive an invitation through the International Education Stream only if they can show that they have professional skills that are in demand in the province.
