Prince Edward Island PNP draws are scheduled for the rest of 2025, i.e., the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) stands out among Canadian immigration programs for its transparency. Unlike many others, PEI publicly shares its schedule of anticipated draws for the year.
PEI PNP Draw Schedule For 2025
The PEI PNP has four more Expression of Interest (EOI) draws planned for the rest of 2025:
| Draw Number | Draw Date |
| 8 | September 18, 2025 |
| 9 | October 16, 2025 |
| 10 | November 20, 2025 |
| 11 | December 18, 2025 |
The province highlights that this is an “Anticipated Invitation to Apply schedule” and the dates are subject to change. While PEI does not guarantee draws on these dates, so far in 2025, it has kept to the schedule, successfully holding draws 1 through 7 on time.
Candidates should also note that their EOI profiles remain active in PEI’s system for six months from the submission date. Profiles are considered for upcoming draws depending on the province’s needs and nomination availability.
Nomination Targets For 2025
As Prince Edward Island PNP draws are scheduled for the rest of 2025, let us look at the nomination targets for the year.
In 2025, all provinces, including PEI, faced significant reductions in their PNP allocations. PEI’s allocation was cut in half, leaving the province with 1,025 nomination spaces for the year.
So far, PEI has issued 792 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) through its PNP in 2025. It’s important to remember that ITAs are invitations to apply for nomination, not nominations themselves. Final nomination numbers may differ depending on program requirements, application approvals, or withdrawals.
Up to this point, PEI has primarily invited candidates through its Labour Market Category and PEI Express Entry streams.
Priority Sectors For Invitations
With fewer nomination spots available, PEI has become more selective in who receives invitations. The Office of Immigration has been prioritizing skilled workers in key, high-demand industries such as:
- Healthcare
- Trades
- Manufacturing
At the same time, PEI has signaled that individuals employed in sales and service roles may not be issued invitations under current program priorities.
Can PEI Increase Its Allocation?
Whether PEI will receive more than 1,025 nominations in 2025 remains uncertain. However, there is precedent, i.e., other provinces have successfully negotiated increases to their allocations this year.
For example, Newfoundland and Labrador secured an additional 1,000 nomination spaces in 2025 by agreeing with the federal government to welcome more humanitarian immigrants in the coming years. Before this, Newfoundland and Labrador’s allocation had been reduced by 50% from 2024, leaving it with just 1,050 spaces. Thanks to negotiations, its current allocation now sits at 2,525 nominations.
Other provinces, including New Brunswick, Saskatchewan, and Yukon, have also seen increases under Canada’s new Immigration Minister, Lena Diab.
While PEI has not yet announced any similar negotiations, the success of other provinces leaves open the possibility that its allocation could grow later in the year.
