Prince Edward Island issues ITAs to immigration applicants, i.e., on June 19, 2025, the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) issued invitations via three immigration pathways.
This latest draw includes the province’s first entrepreneurial invitation of 2025.
| Draw categories | Number of invitations issued |
| Labour Impact/Express Entry | 51 |
| Work Permit Entrepreneur | 1 |
PEI’s latest draw issued a total of 52 invitations through the following pathways:
- Labor Impact Category
- Express Entry
- Business Impact Category – Work Permit Stream
It targeted individuals in key occupations and priority sectors aligned with PEI’s economic needs.
As a result of its reduced nomination spaces, application volumes, and provincial labor market needs, the PEI Office of Immigration is currently selecting and prioritizing skilled workers in high-demand sectors.
The high-demand sectors currently identified include healthcare, manufacturing, and trades.
To date, the province has issued 621 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) through its Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) over the course of 2025.
How To Be Considered By PEI For Provincial Immigration?
Prospective applicants must submit an EOI, i.e., Expression of Interest to the province, indicating they’d like to be considered for a specific stream.
The province further assesses applicants based on one or more of the following criteria:
- English or French language proficiency
- Educational background, including level, field of study, and location of completion
- Skills and work experience
- Strategic priorities that align with PEI’s immediate labour market needs
- Additional employment-related factors, such as having a job offer from a PEI employer or previous Canadian work experience
Once an EOI profile has been created, an applicant enters the applicant pool and is ranked against other applicants.
Successful applicants receive invitations to apply for provincial nomination.
Business Impact Category: Work Permit Stream
Prince Edward Island issues ITAs to immigration applicants. The province’s recent draw saw one ITA issued to an entrepreneur through the Work Permit Stream.
This stream is for foreign nationals interested in investing in and running a business in PEI.
Individuals must come to the province on a work permit and operate the business for one year before being nominated for permanent residency.
Specific criteria should be met to be eligible for nomination through the Work Permit Stream, including:
- Having a minimum net worth of $600,000
- Meeting language proficiency requirements (CLB 4)
- Having prior business ownership or extensive management experience
- Having a high school diploma (or equivalent)
- Intending to work and reside in PEI while actively managing a PEI-based business
Only those who are between the ages of 21 to 59 at the time they submit an application will be considered.
Moreover, the Business Impact Category operates on a points grid and the maximum number of points a foreign national can be awarded is 210.
