Prince Edward Island conducts the eighth PNP draw, i.e., on August 21, Prince Edward Island (PEI) invited foreign nationals to apply for provincial nomination through its Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
The province targeted candidates who are already living and working in PEI, especially those employed in sectors facing labour shortages. International graduates from select institutions also received priority consideration.
So far in 2025, PEI has issued a total of 792 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) through its PNP streams.
August 21 Draw Overview
In its latest draw, the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) issued 132 invitations to individuals currently residing in the province. These were distributed across two main streams:
- Labour Impact
- PEI Express Entry
| Draw Category | Number Of Invitations Issued |
| Labour Impact/Express Entry | 132 |
Candidates employed in key industries vital to PEI’s economic growth were prioritized. Earlier in 2025, the province highlighted healthcare, trades, and manufacturing as critical sectors.
In addition, international graduates from the following PEI institutions received extra preference in this draw:
- University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI)
- Holland College
- Collège de l’Île
This marks the third time this year that PEI has applied these targeted selection priorities.
Moreover, of the 792 invitations issued to date in 2025, 791 were through the Labour Impact and PEI Express Entry streams. Only one was issued via the Work Permit Stream.
Pathways To Settle In PEI
As Prince Edward Island conducts the eighth PNP draw, let us look at some pathways to settle in the province.
Well, the PEI PNP offers several immigration categories for those interested in making the province their home:
- Labour Impact
- Skilled Worker Stream
- Critical Worker Stream
- International Graduate Stream
- PEI Express Entry
- Business Impact
- Work Permit Stream
Each category has unique eligibility requirements, and candidates must also meet federal immigration standards to be considered under Express Entry-linked streams.
Steps To Apply For PEI PNP
To be considered for nomination, candidates must first create an account on PEI’s official immigration website and submit an Expression of Interest (EOI).
Moreover, profiles in the EOI pool are reviewed regularly by the Office of Immigration to identify those that meet the province’s labour and economic priorities. Also, EOIs remain valid for up to six months, and only one active profile is permitted per applicant.
Selected individuals receive an invitation to apply for provincial nomination. If successful, they are issued a nomination certificate, which allows them to apply to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for permanent residency.
Applicants aiming for PEI’s Express Entry Stream must also have an active federal Express Entry profile in addition to submitting their EOI directly to the province.
