Canada’s five provinces, Manitoba, Quebec, PEI, Alberta, and British Columbia, issued PNP results between June 23-29. As well as issued invitations to qualified applicants.
The responsibility for immigration is divided among different levels of government. The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) allows provincial governments to select economic immigration candidates who are expected to be successful in achieving economic stability within the province by nominating them. This is possible when the applicant possesses expertise in a field that is in great demand within the province. Most PNPs include channels that specifically focus on employment opportunities in sectors. For Example, healthcare, agriculture, and technology all of which face a shortage of workers.
In a recent development at the federal level, IRCC has implemented a new approach by organizing selection draws for Express Entry applicants. It is based on specific categories. As an illustration, IRCC issued invitations to the initial 500 Express Entry candidates on June 28. It focuses on their experience in the healthcare sector. It is expected that an additional 1,500 individuals will be invited on July 5. And during the same week, a draw will be conducted for those interested in pursuing careers in STEM fields.
In contrast, Quebec has a distinct arrangement with the federal government. It allows the province to independently select all of its economic immigrants, rendering the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) unnecessary. Recently, Quebec has proposed modifications to its provincial immigration standards. The primary requirement for newcomers will be to possess proficient French language skills upon arrival.

Alberta
This week, the outcomes of three draws conducted from June 20 to June 22 were disclosed as part of the AAIP, which stands for Alberta Advantage Immigration Program.

Draws days are frequently observed on Tuesdays in British Columbia. On June 27, the province extended invitations to more than 180 BC PNP candidates through four separate draws.
The largest draw encompassed various occupations, including those in the technology field. A total of 130 individuals from the entry-level and semi-skilled streams, international graduates, and skilled workers were requested to submit their applications. The minimum Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) score required for entry-level and semi-skilled candidates was 87. While it ranged from 109 for international graduates to 106 for skilled workers.
The remaining three draws specifically targeted international graduates and skilled workers, including those applying through Express Entry. Among the invites, there were 20 healthcare professionals, 30 candidates for early childhood educators, and assistantships. And fewer than five candidates for other priority occupations.
Manitoba
