Canada’s three provinces Manitoba, Ontario, and British Columbia held a PNP draw and released results April 8-14.
Each of Canada’s provinces and territories runs its own program to identify potential economic immigrants, including Quebec and Nunavut, who are likely to be able to establish themselves in the province, become financially established, and contribute to the economy.
As a result of a special arrangement between Quebec and the federal government. The province has complete control over all economic immigration programs. In economic terms, the PNP is the primary route for people to move to Canada. A new permanent resident is expected to be admitted to Canada through the PNP (117,500) annually by 2025. It is greater than the number of permanent residents admitted through Express Entry (114,000).
Demonstrating the capacity to develop one’s self economically
To become a permanent resident of Canada after receiving a provincial nomination, PNP candidates must apply to IRCC.
IRCC evaluates permanent residency applications based on three main factors. Applicants must fulfill the following requirements:
- In Canada, they have the potential for economic development.
- Obtain a nomination certificate from the provincial or territorial government.
- Nominated candidates intend to reside in their nominated province or territory.
Most often, receiving a nomination from the province is considered sufficient to demonstrate the potential for economic establishment because the application for provincial nomination and the application for permanent residency share many facts.
Furthermore, there may be more inquiries if IRCC notices that a candidate is solely dependent on family members for financial support or if there is a perceived skill gap between their resume and their job offer or resume and the job offer.
Candidates’ intention to reside in the province where they are nominated may be affected by this. It is mandatory for PNP participants to demonstrate their intention to reside. And conduct business in the province in which they are nominated. An opportunity for the candidate to respond will be given if the IRCC suspects that this goal might not be achieved.

As a result of expanded skilled immigration, the province claims that labor shortages will be alleviated and that economic growth will result.
