Newfoundland and Labrador is looking for highly skilled people

Newfoundland and Labrador have announced to open a new immigration pathway for highly educated and skilled immigrants. Through this pathway, the province aims to retain the newcomers who are already living there. The new immigration pathway is the Priority Skills Newfoundland and Labrador. It will be operated through the Newfound and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program. This program will be launched on 2nd January 2021. It will target highly educated and skilled immigration candidates who have work experience in specialized fields such as the technology sector. This new program is initiated for the welfare of the employers. Employers in the province require highly skilled and experienced workers to fill the vacancy gaps.

Eligibility for the Priority Skills Immigration pathway

Candidates with work experience in one of the following skilled and high-demand occupations will be eligible for the Priority Skills:

AI Developer

Biomedical Engineer

Python Developer

Mechanical Engineer

Cloud Specialist

Electrical Engineer

.NET Developer

Security Specialist

UI/UX Developer

Bioinformatician

Computer Network Support

Masters/Ph.D. graduates who received a graduation degree from Memorial University within the last three years are also eligible for this pathway. However, they should have degrees in the fields of ocean technology, agriculture, healthcare, aquaculture, and information and communication technology. Other immigration streams of Newfoundland and Labrador

The NLPNP has five immigration categories for new immigrants. These are:

Express Entry Skilled Worker Category;

International Graduate;

Skilled Worker;

International Entrepreneur; and

International Graduate Entrepreneur.

So, individuals can immigrate to Newfoundland and Labrador through these five immigration categories as per their own eligibility requirements. Apart from these five categories, candidates can also move to the province through the Atlantic Immigration Pilot as long as they have a job offer in the province.
