Manitoba 2nd Draw of February Invited 217 Candidates

Introduced in 2014, Manitoba has a popular nominee program known as the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program through which candidates with skills and experience required by the province are selected to apply for a provincial nomination.

Latest Manitoba Provincial Nominee Draw

On 27 February, Manitoba held its 84th draw. In this draw, the province has invited 217 International student graduates, Skilled workers in both Manitoba and abroad to apply for provincial nomination.  Selected candidates are invited through three major immigration streams of  MPNP. 

The distribution of the invitees in each stream is given below:

  Out of a total of 217 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs), 20 are given to those candidates who have profiles in the Express Entry system. Express Entry candidates must note that they need to possess a valid Express Entry ID, job seeker validation code and genuine work experience in order to apply for provincial nomination.

Expression of Interest

A candidate needs to submit an Expression of Interest if he/she is applying for a provincial nomination. While submitting an EOI, the candidate has to answer a set of questions to create an online profile. On the basis of this profile, he/she will be given a score out 0f a total of 1,000. Candidates with impressive profiles get high scores and ultimately invitations are issued to them by the province of Manitoba.

Immigration streams under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program

     1. Skilled Worker in Manitoba

It is one of the three immigration streams under MPNP through which foreign workers with the right skills are selected. The selected candidates should be working in Manitoba in order to receive an invitation to apply for MPNP.  In the latest draw conducted, 161 Skilled Workers in Manitoba have been invited to apply for Manitoba provincial nomination. 

     2. Skilled Worker Overseas

Candidates having some connection to Manitoba have a chance of receiving an invitation via Skilled Worker Overseas Category. This connection can be related to previous work experience in the province, close family members or education.  If a candidate is applying through the skilled worker overseas stream, it is not mandatory for him/her to be physically present in Manitoba while submitting an application. He/She can apply from any part of the world.   24 Skilled Workers from overseas are invited in the draw held on 27 February.

     3. International Education Stream

International Education stream provides a platform to graduates from the Manitoba province to apply for nomination.  A student can be eligible for International Education Stream by means of three ways:

• Career Employment Pathway;
• Graduate Internship Pathway; and
• International Student Entrepreneur Pilot
