The province of British Columbia has sent an invitation to a total of 198 candidates through PNP that was scheduled on the 8th, of this month.
The BC had held two draws earlier via BCPNP and called for candidates in the Skills Immigration and the stream known as the EEBC, Express Entry British Columbia.
It was clear that the invited candidates belonged to the International Graduate Stream, Entry Level semi-Skilled Professional stream, and also streams for Skilled Workers. These streams are a sub-category of the EEBC and SI streams.
A large part of the immigration invitations themselves was sent by the general draw system. They were 188 in number. The candidate who had got these invitations had a minimum score that ranged between 77 to 120 which is the dependence of the program for which they are applicable.
For candidates who were professional in work that fall under the NOC classification mainly in the wholesale and retail sector and also food and services manager were aimed. The draw issued 10 invitations and called for a minimum score window of 120 all over the board.
Last year in February, the province held regular draws that have their own round of invitations and is held twice every month. All of this is a part of its Provincial Nominee Program. The candidates who get selected for this draw belong to the labor market sector and are registered in the SIRS of the province.
British Columbia Provincial Nomination Program
The province of British Columbia has specifically aimed to attract professionals who are skilled and are scarce in Canada. People like these who want to move to Canada will be favored by the Canadian Government to become permanent residents of the country.
The two very important streams of immigration are Express Entry and Skills Immigration. These are divided into other categories. They are looked after by the British Columbia SIRS. According to the SIRS, the first requirement is to get an account registered online. Only when the account is registered in the portal, you will be granted a scorecard that is based on your background and factors like schooling, skillset, language mastery, etc.
The score is then compared and the highest scorers across all the different classifications are sent an invitation that tells them to apply for a PNP in the province. These invitations are sent when the draws are held.
The receiver of the invitation will have a month roughly to complete the application process from their end. This can be done on the online portal of the British Columbia government.
When the candidate submits everything from their side then the immigration department IRCC ponders upon the application and makes a decision. If you are lucky enough to be nominated and cross all the eligibility criteria then you will be granted access to apply for a PR in the portal of IRCC.
This nomination will be done under the PNP class.
The nomination will expire in 6 months calculated when the confirmation is sent.
The best thing about PNP is that getting nominated for a Provincial Nominee Program grants you an extra point of 600 total CRS scores and thus you automatically fall into the category of a top scorer. You can now wait for an Invitation to Apply in the draw of Express Entry whenever held.
