Canada invited 4,500 immigration candidates on July 22. After inviting PNP candidates, IRCC held another Express Entry draw that invited Canadian Experience Class candidates only.
CEC candidates with a Comprehensive Ranking System score of 357 or higher received invitations in this draw. However, even when the CEC candidate had a score of 357, he did not receive an invitation if he submitted his express entry profile after February 14, 2021, at 09:04:15 UTC. IRCC published this date and time as per the tie-break rule.
Previous CEC draw vs new draw
In the previous express entry draw, IRCC invited 4,500 Canadian Experience Class candidates. However, the CRS score required was 369. In this new draw, Canada has issued the same number of invitations but the CRS score has gone down by 12 points. This is one of the lowest CRS scores for CEC-specific Express Entry Draw.
Express Entry: Looking ahead in 2021
Canada has set a higher immigration target for this year. IRCC has already issued twice the number of invitations it did last year by the same time. The huge increase in the number of invitations is because of the largest Express Entry Draw held in February that invited 27,332 CEC candidates.
Also, Canada is gradually reopening its border to non-essential travel. Fully vaccinated people from the United States of America can travel in August. And in September, Canada will possibly open its border to fully vaccinated travelers from all countries.
Thus, IRCC might start conducting all program express entry draws soon as Canada is alleviating travel restrictions.
