The schools of Quebec are experiencing a major shortage of teachers. To combat this shortage, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education has announced a campaign last month to recruit foreign teachers. Through this campaign, newcomers, as well as teachers in other provinces, will be targeted to immigrate to Quebec and fill the gap.
For this purpose, the Ministry of Education has set up a new website which is launched with a motive of providing all the useful information regarding teacher training.
The new website contains information for teachers, students, and immigrants who are willing to move to Quebec and make a career in the teaching profession. Other information uploaded on the website includes the duties of a teacher, guidance for finding a job, job openings, the procedure to get a teaching license.
The website has a list of all training courses and internationally recognized programs that can help immigrants from different parts of the world to teach in the province of Quebec. Foreign teachers who are interested in coming to Quebec can check whether their training is recognized or not. If recognized, they can apply for the post of teacher.
Moreover, Quebec has expressed that a candidate who does not have work experience as a teacher or who is not working as a teacher presently, can also be eligible to become a teacher in Quebec. That means, if you are a foreigner and your current occupation is not of a teacher, you still have a great opportunity to become one in Quebec.
The Minister of Education and Higher education, Jean Francois Roberge, is confident that the campaign will “benefit a large number of people interested in the teaching profession”
Since Quebec is in dire need of teachers, the employment prospects in this field are excellent. Candidates who want to immigrate to Canada and live in Quebec can do so by becoming a teacher in the province.
Candidates who are interested in moving to Quebec as a Teacher can check all the details on this webpage.
