The province of Alberta has invited 148 immigration candidates through the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program draw. Only express entry candidates were eligible to secure invitations in this draw. The province has issued invitations to candidates registered in the Express Entry stream of the AINP.
In this AINP draw, the province has issued fewer invitations and the Comprehensive Ranking System score has increased as compared to the previous draw results. Invited Express entry candidates had a CRS score of 302 or higher.
Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program in 2021
The province of Alberta stopped holding AINP draws in the second half of 2020. It resumed the invitation rounds in January this year. Since then, the province has issued 2,432 invitations to express entry applicants.
The government released the allocations set for Alberta this year for issuing nominations.
The province will give provincial nomination certificates to 6,250 immigration candidates in 2021.
Not every candidate who receives an invitation secures a provincial nomination. However, most of them successfully get nominated to apply for Canada PR.
Check your eligibility for Alberta Express Entry Stream
You can be eligible for the Alberta Express Entry stream if you have worked previously in an eligible occupation. So, work experience is mandatory for AINP.
The AINP provides an index of those occupations that are NOT ELIGIBLE for the express entry stream. Some people who apply for this stream have work experience as a cook, truck driver, and food service supervisors, among others.
Further, you should have an interest in immigrating to Alberta. Some other factors that can help you get a provincial nomination include a job offer, Canadian education, or work experience. Also, if you have a parent, child, or sibling who is living in Alberta as a permanent resident, it can increase your chances of getting a provincial nomination.
Alberta wants to admit those permanent residents who can support the economic growth of the country and reduce the labor gaps.
