Alberta invites workers through new provincial draws, i.e., the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) has invited 743 candidates to apply for a provincial nomination through several immigration draws. The invitations were issued to workers in key sectors, including healthcare, manufacturing, and agriculture.
The province held seven selection rounds between June 5 and June 15, 2026, using different AAIP streams and pathways to invite eligible candidates.
As of June 15, Alberta had conducted 50 provincial immigration draws in 2026.
Draw Summary
During the latest round of invitations, the AAIP selected candidates through the following immigration streams and pathways. Three of the draws focused on healthcare professionals:
- Alberta Opportunity Stream;
- Dedicated Healthcare Pathway – Express Entry
- Dedicated Healthcare Pathway – non-Express Entry
- Rural Renewal Stream
- Alberta Express Entry Stream – Priority Sectors pathway
The priority sectors included healthcare, agriculture, and manufacturing.
Most invitations were issued through the Alberta Opportunity Stream, which accounted for around 62.2% of all invitations issued during these draws.
The number of invitations and minimum selection scores varied across the seven draws.

The draws held between June 8 and June 15 matched Alberta’s main immigration priorities for 2026, which include healthcare, manufacturing, agriculture, and supporting rural communities through the Rural Renewal Stream.
The healthcare Priority Sector draw on June 11 and the agriculture Priority Sector draw on June 12 were both the third draws for those categories in 2026.
By June 15, Alberta had issued 8,453 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination during the year.
AAIP Nomination Figures
For 2026, the federal government gave Alberta a nomination allocation of 6,403 nominations.
According to the AAIP update published on June 16, Alberta had already used 2,869 nomination spaces. This leaves 3,534 nomination spots still available for the rest of the year.

Apart from its regular provincial nomination allocation, Alberta has also used additional nomination spaces to attract certain groups. These include 50 practice-ready physicians and 12 French-speaking candidates.
Expressions Of Interest And Applications Awaiting Review
The province also shares details about the number of Worker Expressions of Interest (WEOIs) and provincial nomination applications that are currently waiting to be reviewed.
As of June 16, Alberta had 38,353 WEOIs in its candidate pool. Around 63.1% of these were under the Alberta Opportunity Stream.
At the same time, Alberta had 1,536 provincial nomination applications awaiting review.
