Canada’s smallest province, Prince Edward Island, is one of the Maritime provinces of Canada. It is considered the least populous province. If you want a relaxed lifestyle with no rush hours, good jobs, low crime rates, and excellent quality of education, you can consider immigrating to Prince Edward Island. In August, Prince Edward Island has conducted two draws. It invited 313 candidates through the Business Impact, Labor Impact, and Express Entry categories of the PEI PNP. The first draw was held on August 11. In this draw, the province invited only 8 candidates belonging to the Labor Impact and Express Entry categories. Then, on August 20, the province conducted the largest PNP draw and issued 305 invitations through all the streams of the PEI PNP.
Out of these 305 invitations, 28 went to people belonging to the Business Impact category and the remaining 277 to both categories – Express Entry and Labor Impact. The province has selected only those candidates who are presently living and working there. Also, they must have submitted their Expression of Interest profiles before June this year in order to be invited.
Candidates were invited through the following three categories:
Express Entry Category
The Express Entry Category of the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program is directly linked with the federal Express Entry System.Every Provincial Nominee Program of Canada has an express entry aligned stream. The Express Entry System accepts the immigration applications through the three major economy-class programs: Canadian Experience Class, Foreign Skilled Worker, and Foreign Skilled Trades.Candidates are given a Comprehensive Ranking System score on the basis of points they score in the human capital factors. Candidates in the express entry pool who receive a provincial nomination are worthy of getting 600 extra points in their overall CRS score. And it increases their chances of securing an ITA for Canadian Permanent Residence in the next Express Entry Draw. To get a provincial nomination from Prince Edward Island, express entry candidates have to create an Expression of Interest profile separately for the PEI PNP.Then, the highest-scoring candidates in the PEI’s points grid are invited by the province to apply for a provincial nomination. In the latest PEI PNP draw, the province has not disclosed the minimum EOI score that was needed to receive an invitation.
Labor Impact Category
If foreign nationals have a job offer from an employer based in PEI, they can apply through the Labor Impact Category. There are three streams in this category – International Graduate, Skilled Worker, and Critical Worker.
Business Impact Category
PEI has invited 28 candidates through the Business Impact Category. These candidates required a minimum score of 112 in the latest draw. Further, the candidates invited were foreign entrepreneurs who were a part of the Work Permit Stream and who want to start their business in PEI.
