Canada invites 600 candidates in the newest Express Entry Draw

Express Entry 160th Draw: Canada has issued invitations to apply for Canada PR to 600 candidates from the Provincial Nominee Program class in the draw held on August 19. The IRCC has selected those candidates who had already secured a provincial nomination. The selected candidates required a Comprehensive Ranking System score of 771 or higher. Owing to the provincial nomination, these candidates already had 600 CRS points. So, they needed 171 points more in the express entry pool based on human capital factors. Tie break rule applied: In this PNP-specific express entry draw, the IRCC used the tie break date and time of July 24, 2020, at 11:29:33 UTC. So, candidates who have entered the pool before this date and time with a CRS score of 771 or higher received an ITA. The tie-break rule is applied in every express entry draw and it is essential to rank candidates with similar CRS scores.

Immigration: Express Entry System

The Express Entry system is one of the best immigration programs internationally. It was introduced in 2015 to fast-track the processing times for immigrant visa applications. Through this immigration system candidates can apply for Canadian permanent residence under the following three economy class programs:

Apart from these three programs, the nine provinces and two territories of Canada have at least one express entry aligned immigration stream belonging to their Provincial Nominee Programs through which a candidate can apply for permanent residence in a particular province or territory. The August 19th draw was the 27th draw of this year. In this draw, Canada has invited candidates belonging to Provincial Nominee Program only. And with this draw, the number to ITAs issued by Canada through the express entry system has reached to 62,450. The government of Canada is right on the track towards its target for 2020 immigration by conducting regular express entry draws and inviting new immigrants to apply for permanent residence in Canada. Furthermore, if the program-specific express entry draws pattern is continued, we can expect that the IRCC will soon hold a draw for Canadian Experience Class candidates.
