No requirement of original language test results for four immigration programs

The Immigration department of Canada has clarified that there will be no requirement for submitting original language test results for four immigration programs of Canada. The following four are the immigration programs that will accept the copies of language test results:

Atlantic Immigration Pilot
Agri-Food Pilot
Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot
Start-up Visa program

Each program has a particular requirement of the Canadian Language Benchmarks in all four skills – Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. And there are a total of 12 levels for each skillset. So, candidates who want to apply for Canadian immigration must meet these specific requirements of each program.

Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program

The AIP (Atlantic Immigration Pilot) offers a fast-track immigration pathway to foreign nationals who have job-offers from one of the four Atlantic provinces: Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island. The Atlantic provinces of Canada are becoming popular among the newcomers, and, in recent years, these provinces have experienced a revolution in the number of immigrants. Employers based in Canada who hire workers through the Atlantic Immigration Pilot are exempt from the requirement of Labor Market Impact Assessment. Also, suppose the employers are facing a shortage of workers and need foreign workers quickly to fill the gap. In that case, they can obtain a temporary work permit, which allows immigrants to travel to Canada as early as possible. Furthermore, foreign workers have to apply for Canada PR within 90 days of their temporary work permit application if they need to get a work permit. Besides, immigrants need a CLB of 4 or higher to apply for immigration through the Atlantic Immigration Pilot.

Agri-Food Pilot

The Agri-Food Pilot is for immigrants who want to work in the agri-food sector of Canada. Candidates who are eligible for agri-food pilot must have a job offer for a whole one year in occupations such as meat processing, farm supervisor positions, greenhouse production, harvesting, and others. In this pilot, too, candidates require a CLB of at least 4 including all other eligibility criteria.

Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot

It is a community-driven program that will help the communities attract proficient immigrants. The RNIP enables foreigners to settle in any of the eleven participating Canadian communities. As of now, nine communities have started accepting applications for RNIP. And each community has its requirements that need to be fulfilled by the immigrants. They also need to meet the federal government’s requirements separately. The Canadian Government has set the language requirements for this immigration program as per the job offer. Individuals who have a job offer in the NOC code of 0 or A must have a CLB of 6 or higher. For technical occupations, which have NOC B, immigrants require a CLB of at least 5. For other occupations with NOC codes C and D, the CLB required is 4 or higher.

Start-up Visa Program

Canada has a start-up visa program for entrepreneurs who want to establish their business. Canada considers those entrepreneurs for this immigration program who can prove that an angel investor group or a venture capital fund supports their business financially. In this immigration program, the CLB requirement is at least 5 for all the entrepreneurs.
