This week’s Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw results were issued by Canada’s four provinces: Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, and Prince Edward Island.
Canada’s four provinces issued this week’s PNP draw results between July 29th to August 3rd
Ontario
This week, the Ontario Provincial Nominee Program (OINP) conducted three distinct nomination draws:
Approximately 2,855 Notifications of Interest were issued by Ontario in the Skilled Trades stream, akin to invitations to apply (ITAs). Candidates within a range of 250-516 on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) were offered these NOIs.
Furthermore, the province received 755 applications for the Master’s Graduate program with a minimum OINP points score of 48 and above. Further, 84 candidates with a 39-point or better were invited to apply for the PhD Graduate stream.
British Columbia
Two provincial nominee draws were hosted by British Columbia’s Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) on August 1st.
British Columbia conducted focused lotteries for sought-after professions within the Skilled Worker International Graduate category, including those with the Express Entry aligned option (EEBC), resulting in:
- 132 invitations extended to tech workers, requiring a minimum BCPNP score of 88.
- 39 invitations granted to early childhood educators and assistants, with a minimum BCPNP score of 60.
- 23 invitations issued to healthcare workers, with a minimum score of 60.
- Additionally, at least one invitation was extended to candidates in other targeted professions, demanding a minimum score of 60.
The BCPNP organized a draw for Entrepreneur immigration, extending at least one invitation in the primary Entrepreneur Immigration stream. As well as an additional invitation to the Regional Pilot stream.
Alberta
The Alberta Provincial Nominee Program (AAIP) issued invitations through two streams on August 1st.
AAIP issued 32 NOIs in the Agriculture occupation stream. It was designated as a Priority Sector for candidates with a minimum CRS score of 322.
AAIP also extended 11 NOIs within the Dedicated Healthcare Pathway to candidates having a minimum CRS score of 317.
Prince Edward Island
The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) held a draw on August 3rd in the Labor & Express Entry stream. In this case, the PEI PNP sent 58 invitations to candidates from a variety of industries. It includes healthcare, manufacturing, food processing, construction, hotel/accommodation, and agriculture. The absence of a declared minimum CRS score criteria was notable in this draw.
About Provincial Nominee Draw
The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) has evolved to become Canada’s major economic immigration route, with its beginning aimed at dispersing immigration advantages equally across the country.
The PNP has recently gained significant relevance within Canada’s immigration framework, owing to provinces focusing on alleviating labor and demographic deficits through immigration.
In addition to the traditional PNP operations (with the exception of Quebec and Nunavut), provinces also have the opportunity to submit applicants from the federal Express Entry pool, a program called Enhanced Provincial Nomination. This early nomination gives Express Entry candidates 600 CRS points more, essentially assuring their eventual ITA.
The PNP is expected to enable the admission of about 333,000 newcomers to Canada between 2023 and 2025, emphasizing its key role in defining the country’s immigration landscape.
