On March 16, Canada invited 924 Express Entry nominees to apply for PR
For the new invitation round, IRCC only invited PNP candidates to apply. The PNP nominees were invited according to their CRS scores. The candidates having a minimum of 754 CRS scores were invited by IRCC.
At the time of nomination, 600 points were automatically added to the score of PNP candidates. This is why the minimum score was relatively higher for them this time.
If the candidates did not receive 600 points during the nomination, the minimum CRS score would be 154 only.
The invited candidates can apply for Canadian PR within two months.
The previous invitation round accounts for more candidates than this time; talking in figures, IRCC nominated 1047 PNP candidates to apply for immigration to Canada last time, which is more than the presently nominated 924 PNP candidates.
About CEC and FSWP invitations
People are eagerly waiting for the Express Entry draw for FSWP and CEC.
Since December 2020, the Canadian government has not organized any Express Entry for the candidates of the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates since 2021.
Regarding this, Canadian Immigration Minister Sean Fraser has said that the next draw for the candidates of CEC and FSWP will take place very soon. However, any specific date was not mentioned.
In Canada, the Express entry immigrants are in the hope of CEC and FSWP invitations as they have not registered for Provincial nomination. The Express Entry for Canadian Experience Class and Federal Skilled Worker Program is an opportunity for them to apply for Provincial Nomination. They are worried that without this opportunity, they could be forced to apply for a new work permit or leave their jobs and even evacuate from the country.
Candidates who apply for PR via Express Entry qualified for a Bridging Open Work Permit. With this, they can remain in the country while their application gets processed.
The tenure of the language test may expire for the Express Entry Pool’s immigrants from outside Canada, and they have to qualify for another language test to maintain their eligibility.
The Express Entry process
The Express Entry is a system to manage the Canadian Immigration application. This is called the Express Entry Pool, which includes three different Canadian immigration programs.
- The Canadian Experience Class,
- The Federal Skilled Worker Program,
- The Federal Skilled Trades Program
Most PNP candidates have already been accepted to any one program out of these through the Express Entry pool.
Express Entry uses the CRS to analyze candidates’ eligibility. The CRS is a points-based system on the basis of which ranks are allowed to the candidates.
Express Entry offers an Invitation to Apply (ITA) to the candidates scoring high values of CRS, after which the invited candidates can apply for Canadian PR.
After that, the Candidates’ application is reviewed by the IRCC department. The department could ask for biometrics or additional documentation and may even schedule an interview to make the final decision on the candidate’s application.
Once the IRCC department is satisfied, the application will get approved, and it will issue a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR).
After that, the approved PR can complete the immigration process. PR Candidates outside Canada can also utilize the pre-arrival services to take a step ahead and settle in Canada.
Who got an invitation to the New draw?
To explain Who was invited to the new Express Entry, we tried to create a hypothetical scenario of a person IRCC invited to the new Express Entry draw.
Raj is 34 years old, and he has completed his Master’s degree. He has ten years of experience in-database analysis. He appeared in IELTS and scored 7.5 points in listening and 6.5 in all other categories. He has no prior connection to Canada, and he has never studied or worked there. Raj entered the Express Entry pool and submitted his profile to the Canadian Manitoba province. He attained 360 CRS scores and entered the pool. Soon raj gets an invitation to apply for the provincial nomination of Manitoba. After this, his Express Entry CRS score increased to 960, and he received an Invitation to Apply for Canadian PR in the new Express Entry draw.
