People in Canada who will use the government-regulated vehicles shall now be required to be completely vaccinated. All those aged 12 and above are liable for this new announcement that will be in effect from today, that is the 30th of November.
The government functioned transportation includes all Canadian airports, Rail and Rocky Mountaineer trains, transport that travel for 24 hours and more need to adhere to this. Buses, road transportation, and others will not adhere to this policy.
Last month too Canada has announced this measure but earlier the passengers were required to produce a negative COVID-19 PCR report. Now they will be asked for proof of vaccination against the Coronavirus.
There are exceptions for a small group of people who could not be immunized due to medical complexes.
There has also been a measure for the time being that will enable international visitors to leave Canada by flight till the 28th of February with no vaccination proof. Although those will adhere to this guideline will need to produce a negative COVID-19 test report prior to boarding. It should also be noted that only those visitors can make the best of this opportunity who had landed in Canada before the 30th of October, 2021.
Another policy that came into effect from today, that is 30th of November, permits only those travelers who have been vaccinated with both doses, to enter Canada and return within 72 hours of departure, these travelers will not be required a negative test report while returning.
All citizens of Canada, Canadian Permanent Residents, and people in the Indian Act must be entirely vaccinated in order to leave and come back again to the country by traveling through air or land transportation. It is compulsory for them to bring proof of validation of being vaccinated. All those who for some medical reason may not be able to get vaccinated are also covered by this policy. It also includes children who are 12 years and less.
Travelers who will go outside of Canada for 72 hours and more will be compulsorily required to get COVID-19 tested before entering Canadian borders again. Also, to mention rapid tests and antigen tests are not considered valid by the Canadian government law.
Since last year February, everyone who is above the age of 5 and is traveling to Canada from overseas is needed to take a COVID-19 test nonetheless being vaccinated or not.
Recently, Canada also added three new vaccines to the list of vaccines accepted and acknowledged by Canada to consider travelers as fully or completely vaccinated against the Coronavirus.
The list has been amended and came into effect by 30 November. These are:
- COVAXIN
- AstraZeneca
- Johnson and Johnson
- Moderna
- Sinovac
- Pfizer-BioNTech
- Sinophram
Canada only considers a person to be fully or completely vaccinated only if he or she has received a full dosage of a vaccine approved by Canadian law. It should be taken at least 14 days before they travel. All individuals who have a certificate of vaccination must be in English or French. If not so, they will be required a certified translation of the vaccination document. There is also an app called ArriveCAN on which the travelers have to submit their information and documentation of their proof of vaccination and their quarantine plan after landing in Canada.
