2020 Opens Up With 3,400 Invitations Issued To Express Entry Candidates

Express Entry System of Canada is the most well known migration framework offering permanent residence to immigrants, launched by the federal government in January 2015.

Application Process:

The application process of Express Entry is easy and fluid. An interested candidate has to, primarily, check all the requirements to be considered eligible for this Immigration System. The Express Entry draws take place on a bi-weekly basis. On 8th January, the first draw of 2020 has been conducted. Through this draw, 3,400 Invitations are issued to the candidates who created a profile in the Express Entry pool. The lowest Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score needed to obtain an invitation by the government was as high as 473. This score is the deciding factor for securing an ITA for permanent residence. CRS score is dependent on a number of factors such as age, education, work experience, Canadian certificate of education, and language proficiency. In addition to that, a job offer from Canadian employer is not mandatory in the Express Entry process. However, it does grant additional points to the candidate. Candidates who have obtained a score of 473 or higher were sent Invitations through the Express Entry System, to apply for permanent residence. The cut-off score in this draw was higher as compared to the score of previous draw which was 469. The higher score is largely due to a gap of 20 days between the two draws. Although the CRS score is relatively higher in this draw, you should not be disheartened. The Government of Canada has a target of inviting around one million immigrants throughout the following three years. So, Candidates will get a good number of opportunities in the future as well. Tie-break date and time: In this recent draw, the government has set the tie-break date and time as December 27, 2019, at 13:35:09 UTC. Only those candidates have received an invitation to apply for permanent residence who have submitted their profiles before the tie-break date and time. Receiving an Invitation to apply (ITA) through Express Entry System makes one have a greater chance of securing Permanent Residence. If you have secured an invitation, you must apply for permanent residence as early as possible.
