Three Canadian provinces invite applicants in the latest draws. Eleven of 13 provinces and territories use Provincial Nomination Programs that allow the local government in each participating region to select skilled immigrants whom they have assessed as best-suited to address local labor market needs and minimize regional demographic challenges.
Note: Although immigration is a shared responsibility between Canada’s federal and provincial governments, Quebec does not operate a Provincial Nominee Program. This is because the province’s local government has an agreement with IRCC that enables Quebec to maintain greater authority over provincial economic immigration.
Provincial Immigration Results: June 8 To June 14
Three Canadian provinces invite applicants in the latest draws. Here are the results for the same.
Ontario
Ontario has issued invitations via its Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program for the first time in two months. These invitations were issued via two separate draws on June 11, 2024.
In addition, in the first draw, under the Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker Stream, the OINP issued 124 invitations to applicants who might qualify as early childhood educators and assistants. This draw invited applicants with a score ranging from 43 and above.
In another June 11 draw, the OINP also issued 120 invitations to applicants in a targeted draw through its Employer Job Offer: International Student stream. This draw also included applicants who might qualify as early childhood educators and assistants, but this draw requires a minimum score of 65.
British Columbia
On June 11, British Columbia conducted another British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program general draw.
In this draw, the province issued over 39 invitations to immigration applicants from five streams. As has been the case throughout 2024, these streams targeted through this draw included:
- Skilled Worker
- Skilled Worker – Express Entry British Columbia Option
- International Graduate
- International Graduate – EEBC Option
- Entry Level and Semi-Skilled
Note: For all streams except ‘Entry Level and Semi-Skilled,’ the June 11 draw required applicants to have a minimum score of 131. Moreover, Entry Level and Semi-Skilled applicants required a minimum score of 110.
Saskatchewan
On June 13, 2024, Saskatchewan held provincial immigration draws through the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program for the first time since March 2024.
In the first of two draws, under the SINP’s Express Entry stream, the province invited 88 applicants who had professional work experience in specific professions. In addition, applicants invited under this stream on June 13 were required to have a minimum score of 88.
The other SINP draw from June 13 invited 32 additional applicants through the program’s Occupations In-Demand stream. Once again, this draw targeted applicants with certain professional employment experience. These applicants also required a minimum score of 88.
Note: Both draws only invited applicants who possessed an Educational Credential Assessment or were educated in Canada.
