Ontario issues invitations across key streams, i.e., the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) held five targeted draws on March 25, 2026. In these draws, a total of 1,112 invitations to apply (ITAs) were issued. These invitations were given to candidates who had job offers in high-demand occupations across different parts of Ontario.
The draws focused on three main streams. These were the Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker (FW), International Student (IS), and In-Demand Skills (IDS) streams. To receive an invitation, candidates needed to show that they were already living in Canada with a valid work or study permit.
This was the fourth round of invitations held by Ontario in 2026. Earlier draws took place on February 2, February 18, and March 18.
Details Of The Latest Draws
The OINP invited candidates across five regions of Ontario. These included the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Southwestern Ontario, Central Ontario (excluding the GTA), Eastern Ontario, and Northern Ontario.
Among these regions, the GTA received the highest number of invitations, with 431 ITAs issued. Northern Ontario received the lowest number, with 57 invitations.
The number of invitations, streams selected, and minimum score requirements were different for each region.

To be considered in these draws, candidates needed to have created their profiles before March 23, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Profiles created before July 2, 2025, were not included in the selection.
The In-Demand Skills stream was only used in the draws for Eastern Ontario and Central Ontario (excluding the GTA). Under this stream, invitations were given to candidates who had job offers as home support workers under NOC 44101.
Occupations Selected In The Draws
Each region focused on different National Occupational Classification (NOC) codes. However, many of the selected jobs were in fields such as health care, technology, business administration, and skilled trades.
In the GTA, there was a strong focus on technology and health care roles. Some of the main jobs included software engineers, web developers, and registered nurses.
In regions outside the GTA, a wider range of occupations was included. These draws covered roles such as administrative officers, physiotherapists, licensed practical nurses, and supervisors in skilled trades.

What Happens After Receiving An Invitation?
After receiving an invitation, both the employer and the candidate must complete certain steps within a limited time.
Employers must review the official employer guide and submit a full application to approve the job position within 14 calendar days of the invitation.
At the same time, candidates must submit their OINP application within 17 calendar days after receiving their ITA.
Once a candidate receives a provincial nomination from Ontario, they can then apply to the federal government for permanent residence (PR).
Upcoming Changes To The OINP
These recent draws come at a time when Ontario is planning major changes to its immigration system.
New legal changes under the Ontario Immigration Act are expected to begin on May 30, 2026. These changes will remove all current categories that are used to issue nominations. This includes the Foreign Worker, International Student, and In-Demand Skills streams.
The province has also shared plans to replace the current system with a new structure. This will include one combined Employer Job Offer stream, which will have two different pathways based on skill level.
In addition, three new streams are expected to be introduced:
- A priority health care stream
- An entrepreneur stream
- An exceptional talent stream
At this time, Ontario has not announced when these new streams will officially start. It is also not yet clear if current candidates will be moved into the new system.
