Highlights of the plan
- Make plans to increase the number of immigrants in the next 3 years to fill the gap that occurred in 2020 focusing on increasing the economic growth of Canada by about 60% by admitting newcomers from the Economic Class, focusing on new and innovative approaches to fulfill the needs of the labor force across the country.
- Committed to providing a digital makeover to Canada’s immigration system, supporting the processing of applications of immigrants, and reducing the effect of covid 19
- Providing additional points to French-speaking candidates, to increase the progress of Francophone communities.
- Welcoming about 500 refugees in the next 2 years under the EMPP and helping the qualified refugees to apply for permanent residence.
- Continue to welcome newcomers to Canada to increase economic growth and recovery, as 2021-2023 Immigration Levels Plans.
- Expansion in pilot programs to welcome refugees who are skilled.
- Continue the support for family reunification.
- Continue their work for sectoral and regional programs.
- Continue to create new streams for permanent residency for those individuals who have provided essential services and healthcare during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Continue working to protect the health and safety of the Canadian people, management of the border that Canada shares with the United States, and also to responsibly handle the other entry ports into Canada.
- Continue working to provide permanent residence and Canadian citizenship for those with temporary foreign worker status.
- Continue to support and protect the workers who are affected due to COVID-19 and provide secure labor to fill workforce gaps.
- Continue working to facilitate the permanent settlement of new Canadians and also support French-language training.
