No. of Invitations issued: 4,200Minimum CRS score required: 475Held on: September 2, 2020Tie-break date and time: August 16, 2020, at 01:22:18 UTCThe outbreak of the coronavirus has disrupted the immigration processes all over the world. Since the implementation of travel restrictions in Canada, the country is conducting program-specific Express Entry Draws. At the end of July, the first all-program Express Entry draw was held.Several skilled workers were anxiously waiting for the regular express entry draw. The IRCC has recently held the third all-program draw by inviting as many as 4,200 Express Entry Candidates to apply for Canadian Permanent Residence. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score needed by the express entry candidates in this draw was 475. In this draw, the number of invitations issued has increased from the previous all-program draw while the CRS score required has decreased by one point. It was only before the coronavirus pandemic that the IRCC issued over 4,000 invitations. So, the 4,200 invitations in this draw actively indicate that Canada is determined to welcoming a large number of newcomers.
The IRCC uses a tie-break rule to rank express entry candidates with the same CRS score. The tie-break date and time set for this draw were August 16, 2020, at 01:22:18 UTC. So, candidates who had CRS scores of 475 or higher and had submitted their profiles before the tie-break date and time received invitations in this draw. With this 29th Express Entry Draw of 2020, the number of invitations issued this year has reached to 69,950.
Application Process for the Canada Express Entry
To apply for the express entry immigration system, an interested candidate must fulfill all the eligibility requirements. Then, the eligible candidate has to submit his/her profile in the Express Entry pool. This profile acts as an Expression of Interest shown by the candidate for the permanent residency in Canada.Once a profile is submitted, the candidate is awarded a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, which is eventually the deciding factor for securing an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence.
