Manitoba targets skilled workers in the late January draw, i.e., the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) has invited more skilled workers to apply for provincial nomination in its most recent draw.
Candidates were chosen based on declaring that they had received an invitation to apply (ITA) from the MPNP under a strategic recruitment initiative in their Expression of Interest (EOI) profile.
This was Manitoba’s second provincial immigration draw of the year.
Draw Results
On January 29, the MPNP issued 47 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to candidates under the Skilled Worker Stream through the following pathways:
- Skilled Worker in Manitoba
- Skilled Worker Overseas
The breakdown of LAAs issued to candidates invited by the MPNP under a strategic recruitment initiative is shown below:
| Strategic Recruitment Initiative | Number Of LAAs Issued |
| Employer Services | 24 |
| Francophone Community | 3 |
| Regional Communities | 4 |
| Ethnocultural Communities | 2 |
| Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Program Candidates (TPP) | 14 |
Out of the 47 LAAs issued to skilled workers in Manitoba and overseas in EOI draw #263, six were given to candidates who reported having a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code.
So far in 2026, Manitoba has issued 102 LAAs through two draws. Both draws mainly focused on candidates selected under the Employer Services recruitment initiative.
This draw continues Manitoba’s usual approach, as most of its public draws mainly focus on skilled workers invited through recruitment initiatives, rather than other streams such as the International Education Stream.
Manitoba also noted that this draw included candidates who stated in their EOI profile that they work in a regulated occupation and are fully licensed to work. However, the province keeps the right to refuse applications from those who:
- Are not actually working in a regulated occupation
- Fail to provide proof that they have completed all required steps to work in the province
If a candidate falls into either group, it may be better to decline the LAA, as the MPNP charges a non-refundable application fee of $500.
How To Apply?
Individuals who receive an LAA from Manitoba have 60 days from the date they receive it to submit a complete application.
Applications are reviewed on a case-by-case basis using the information available on the province’s website at the time the application is submitted.
A full application must include all required documents for review, in either PDF or JPG format, with each file under two MB. All documents must be in English or French.
If an original document is not in English or French, candidates must submit a notarized copy of the original and a certified translation from a qualified translator.
All information stated in the candidate’s EOI profile must be supported with proper documents.
Once all application pages are completed and documents are uploaded, the applicant must pay the $500 fee and submit the application through the MPNP Online portal.
The MPNP will send an application file number by email within 48 hours of a successful payment.
Applicants can use the MPNP Online portal to track their application status, update details, add dependents, or upload additional documents if needed.
