Manitoba issues new invitations in the latest PNP draw, i.e., the province conducted its second provincial immigration draw in August, inviting skilled workers through the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP).
The invitations were based on applicants’ skilled work experience, Expression of Interest (EOI) scores, and participation in specific strategic recruitment initiatives.
Moreover, this marked Manitoba’s 17th provincial draw of 2025.
Results Of The Draw
On August 21, Manitoba held its most recent draw under the Skilled Worker Stream, which has two pathways:
- Skilled Worker in Manitoba
- Skilled Worker Overseas
In total, 77 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) were issued. Out of these, 18 were sent to candidates who had declared a valid Express Entry profile number along with a job seeker validation code.
The minimum score required in Expression of Interest (EOI) Draw #252 was 612.
| Stream | LAAs Issued | Cut-Off Score |
| Skilled Worker Stream | 77 | 612 |
Only candidates who confirmed they were directly invited by the MPNP as part of a strategic recruitment initiative received invitations.
This draw distributed LAAs under the following initiatives:
| Strategic Recruitment Initiative | LAAs Issued |
| Employer Services | 6 |
| Francophone Community | 29 |
| Regional Communities | 31 |
| Ethnocultural Communities | 11 |
The MPNP also noted that some candidates who met or exceeded the cut-off score may not have received an LAA due to issues such as:
- Entering language test details without providing a valid test number, or submitting expired test results.
- Indicating an invitation through a strategic recruitment initiative but not including a valid invitation number in their EOI.
About Strategic Recruitment Initiatives
As Manitoba issues new invitations in the latest PNP draw, let us discuss regarding the strategic recruitment initiatives.
Strategic recruitment initiatives are special programs run by employers or communities in Manitoba to help the province identify and invite candidates with skills that are highly needed but in short supply.
These initiatives benefit both employers and candidates: local businesses can address long-term workforce shortages, while foreign nationals gain a pathway to Canadian permanent residency.
To participate, employers must meet the province’s eligibility standards for their job vacancies and complete Manitoba’s ABC Recruitment Process. Once approved, they can provide details of international candidates to Manitoba’s Employer Services.
Candidates, on the other hand, must meet eligibility criteria such as age, education, language proficiency, work experience, and the specific conditions of the stream under which they are selected.
