Manitoba invites skilled workers in the latest draw, i.e., the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) held a new draw on March 26 under its Skilled Worker Stream. In this round, invitations were sent to candidates living in Manitoba as well as those outside Canada.
Candidates were selected only if they had clearly stated in their Expression of Interest (EOI) profile that they were directly invited by the MPNP through a strategic recruitment initiative.
This is the sixth draw conducted by Manitoba in 2026 so far.
Latest Draw Results
In this draw, the MPNP issued a total of 14 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs). These invitations were given under two pathways: Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas. Both fall under the Skilled Worker Stream.
Most of the invitations were given to candidates linked to the Francophone Community initiative. This group received eight out of the 14 LAAs.
| Strategic Recruitment Initiative | Invitations Issued |
| Employer Services | 4 |
| Ethnocultural Communities | 1 |
| Francophone Community | 8 |
| Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Program Candidates (TPP) | 1 |
The MPNP confirmed that no invitations were issued under the Regional Communities initiative in this draw.
To receive an invitation, candidates needed to mention in their EOI profile that they had been invited by Manitoba under a strategic recruitment initiative. They could also qualify if they were invited under the ‘Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Program Candidates.’
Out of the 14 invitations issued, three were given to candidates who had a valid Express Entry profile number along with a job seeker validation code.
Why Some Eligible Candidates Did Not Receive Invitations?
The MPNP explained that meeting the basic criteria does not always guarantee an invitation. Some candidates may still not receive an LAA due to missing or incorrect details in their profile.
This may happen if the candidate:
- Indicated that they had taken an approved third-party language test in English or French, but did not provide a valid test number in their EOI, or the test result was no longer valid; or
- Indicated that they had received an Invitation to Apply under a strategic recruitment initiative, but did not provide a valid invitation number.
Candidates facing these issues may update their EOI profiles with the correct information. As a result, this can improve their chances of receiving an invitation in future draws.
