The present scenario of Canadian immigration
Every year there is more immigration to Canada. In actuality, Canada’s Immigration Levels Plan for 2023–2025 sets a goal of 500,000 annual arrivals of permanent residents (PR) by 2025.
A majority of these new permanent residents will enter Canada under Express Entry or other economic class immigration categories. The federal government’s primary route for immigration to this country is known as Express Entry, and it is the name of the application management system that handles immigration applications from the Canadian Experience Class, the Federal Skilled Workers Program (FSWP), and the FSTP.
However, in recent years, the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) has taken the lead in promoting immigration to Canada.
The PNP is a program that enables each participating province or territory to welcome immigrants who best fill regional labor shortages and requirements to apply for permanent residency in that area.
Notably, all 11 of Canada’s provinces and territories run PNPs, with the exception of Quebec and Nunavut.
