What is the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program?
The western province of Canada, Alberta has its own nominee program – Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program to select candidates who are working in a profession that can help support the province’s “economic development and diversification priorities”. Through AINP, the province is able to meet the labor market needs by inviting skilled candidates and workers to apply for an Alberta provincial nomination certificate. Candidates are selected through the following streams of the AINP- Alberta Express Entry Stream
- Alberta Opportunity Stream
- Alberta Self-Employed Farmer Stream
Alberta Express Entry Stream – Pathway to Canada
The Alberta Express Entry stream offers the easiest route to Canadian Permanent Residence. Through this stream, a candidate is invited by Alberta to apply for a provincial nomination and thereby securing 600 points in the CRS score, if successful. However, the Express Entry stream works on an invitation basis only. In addition to this, having a profile in the Express Entry pool is mandatory. All those candidates who have their profiles in the federal Express Entry are systematically selected and issued Notifications of Interest by the AINP. Once, a candidate is selected by the province of Alberta, he/she can apply to the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada for Canadian permanent residence. Each province has its own labor market requirements in order to have robust economic growth. Thus, it wants immigrants who have the right skills for helping in economic progress. The AINP prefers candidates who have:- a job offer in Alberta;
- genuine work experience;
- a degree from a Canadian post-secondary academic institution;
- a parent, child or sibling living in Alberta
